The cryptocurrency community always has something to discuss every time. Today, Ethereum’s Vitalik Buterin, and Ripple’s David Schwartz replied to Bitcoin Cash’s Roger Ver Twitter post.
In the post Roger said, “Copyrights are legitimate contractual agreements between consenting parties.”
Dissenting with the post, Vitalik said he disagree with the idea in practice, pointing that a person who uploads a copyrighted work on Torrent may violate the law, but the downloaders are not.
In his understanding, he said the downloaders did not make any agreement with the copyright owner.
Replying to Vitalik, David Schwartz said the law does state that you necessarily have to be a party to a contract before breaching, citing a 1700 case law.
Copyrights are legitimate contractual agreements between consenting parties.

However, a consultant Attorney by the name Adam David Long, argued that copyright is not based on contract, he added that it is a property right, not a contract right. He said property rights apply to everyone even if they did not enter into a contract agreement.
