BitTorrent (BTT) the TRC-10 token has been promoted heavily by Tron since its inception with the token displaying mix results so far. The coin has failed to push on an extended bullish run in 2019 despite the hype from eccentric CEO Justin Sun.
Despite this TRON has continued to push updates for the cryptocurrency with Sun announcing the launch of a BTT wallet and token on BitTorrent and uTorrent by the end of the second quarter. Tron made waves in 2018 when it purchased BitTorrent for around $140 million.
BitTorrent is the leading torrent platform in the world with over 1 million active users who use the platform to transfer data and information. Tron has tried to utilize the popularity of the platform to promote their native token TRX and BTT.
The blockchain platform recently completed its fourth-round airdrop of BTT for Tron (TRX) holders which is a ploy to promote the use of the token within the Tron community.
The airdrop which occurred on May 11 was announced on BitTorrent official twitter account with the next one scheduled for June 11.
