The Cardano team published a post on Twitter about the readiness to implement the Ouroboros BFT (Byzantine Fault Tolerance) update on February 20. According to the statement, work on the update continued for about 18 months.
As part of the continuing improvements to Cardano, on the 20th of February, we'll be updating Ouroboros on the Byron mainnet to Ouroboros BFT. ADA holders don't need to do anything as part of this process. Find out more about this update here: https://t.co/PHxC1hdxYL

The new architecture is created to make the transition to Shelley and Goguen releases easier.
Cardano will launch a protocol for the Shelley phase called Ouroboros Genesis due to current update.
This is the first Proof-of-Stake protocol, the security level of which is equivalent to the Proof-of-Work protocol, on which, for example, Bitcoin cryptocurrency runs.
Thus, the update will bring blockchain better protection against the attack 51%.
Along with the implementation of the Ouroboros BFT, changes will be made to the current architecture of Cardano, for example, changes from a monolithic to a modular node. The updated version will help implement integration in a simpler way.
At the same time, third-party developers will be able to create their own apps on the Cardano network. The new unit will be easily incorporated into other systems used, for example, into crypto exchanges.
Such an opportunity will draw attention to the project of more people and will open the door to the bigger adoption of cryptocurrency, including at the corporate level.
Thus, such changes will be implemented tomorrow, on February 20. The Ouroboros BFT is a milestone in the transition from Byron to Shelley and will be implemented through a hard fork.
As the developers state “ADA holders don’t need to do anything as part of this process.”
IOHK Released Daedalus Rewards Wallet v2.1.0
Cardano is the main blockchain of ADA cryptocurrency and the new update also includes a new version of its digital currency wallet.
Fresh out now, a new #Daedalus wallet for the #Shelley Incentivized Testnet. We've worked on network & backend integrations + added fresh UI features & hardware/Yoroi wallet restoration. Oh, and some 'experimental' features too. Give it a test drive… https://t.co/yl0e7XXS8f pic.twitter.com/BYAvSZSwtx

Therefore, a little earlier, the IOHK team released a new wallet, Daedalus Rewards v2.1.0, which is also an integral part of the current update.
To date, the users of Shelley testnet can take some advantage. Daedalus Rewards Wallet will fix problems with zero balance, as well as support for Yoroi and hardware wallet recovery in addition to a number of other “experimental” functions.
Despite the fact that the new version is designed to improve users interaction with the Cardano blockchain, the latter may still encounter problems when trying to synchronize their wallets.
However, the team is working on a solution to these problems and promises to introduce a new assembly in the near future.
