Ripple is the only crypto firm that made it to the list of 50 companies disrupting the world for the year 2020, released by the popular American news outlet and media corporation, CNBC.

The latest list marks the eighth edition of the annual list where CNBC identifies companies around the world making a great impact in industries and markets. CNBC noted that the companies in the fresh list are at “the epicenter of a world,” proffering solution that changes the unimaginable ways of doing things across various sectors.

The international media company says most of the companies (36) in this year’s list are unicorns, companies that have surpassed $1 billion valuation mark.

CNBC claimed that in spite of the economy threatening novel pandemic, the companies made a great impact prior and within the COVID-19 period. The report confirmed that 37 of the companies hired new employees and 19 launched new products or made changes in their product to tackle the challenges of the pandemic.

Ripple was ranked the 28th in the list of the world disrupting companies as compiled by CNBC.

No doubt, Ripple has churned out a number of intriguing innovations during this pandemic. Ripple alongside its partners like MoneyTap, Xendpay, collaborated to offer people free remittance transactions across the world.

Also, Ripple launched a new product during the period, known as Ripple’s Cloud Service, to ease the affairs of payment providers and customers when sending money.

CNBC averred that Ripple, with the use of blockchain technology, is revitalizing and developing the global payments infrastructure, thus easing people’s task when sending money across the world. CNBC further compared the speed, cost, and difficulty of Ripple remittance service with sending an email.

The media company also made reference to the all-time high price attained by XRP, the native token of Ripple, in January 2018. CNBC said Ripple made headlines then, and Chris Larson, the cofounder of Ripple, was wealthier than Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg for a short time.

However, this is the first time Ripple will be making the list. It would be a great pleasure for Ripple and its community haven made the prestigious list at a time most companies around the world are hit by the demeaning force of the pandemic.
