The co-founder of Digibyte blockchain, Jared Tate, has said he proposed a new feature for the blockchain network, and if implemented, could increase the scalability and efficiency of Digibyte by 240x.
Christened “Super blocks,” Jared had proposed the implementation of the new feature, stating that it would help Digibyte achieve with a double merkle root every hour. The co-founder added that if initiated, the speed of Digibyte would be increased.
“We could increase scalability and efficiency by a factor of 240x,” Tate stated.
Super blocks help enhance the smart contracts of a blockchain network, as well as its speed in executing transactions. In the same line, Super blocks will help increase the ease of using Digibyte as well as the ability to sync and run a core code on the blockchain.
“Think of it like files in the drawer within a file cabinant. Drawer is super block, individual files normal blocks,” Tate stated.
Jared said with Super blocks, Digibyte will be able to navigate the chain much faster, adding that the new development will create an advancement similar to the difference “between a second hand and an hour hand on a clock.”
Jared explained further that Super blocks will increase the potency of Digibyte like transforming blockchain from linear 2d to 3d.
By changing block headers and adding second super double merkle tree hash, Jared said some level of dramatic speed up could be done.
“Its technically already been done with merge mining. Think of how dogecoin is merge minded with litecoin. Slower and faster blocks interwoven,” the cofounder concluded.
