It appears there is no longer a partnership between Enigma and Chainlink. This is a reflection from a post by one of Enigma’s co-founder on the blockchain’s forum page earlier today.
December 5, 2019, both Chainlink and Enigma co-authored a post announcing a partnership between the two.
The partnership, according to the post, is focused on the integration of the two blockchains’ protocols to achieve distinct and powerful use cases for secret smart contracts.
As extracted from the post, the two platforms looked forward to a novel solution focused on the problems bedeviling the blockchain space especially in areas like external connections, scalability and privacy.
The collaboration will also open new ideas in the decentralized finance (DeFi) world, global trade, machine learning, healthcare, credit and many more.
The two platforms share wide initiatives and alliances like the Enterprise Ethereum Alliance, where they are partners, among others.
Enigma, then, said it was exploring how Chainlink’s price oracles could be linked to Enigma’s secure computation protocol for improved end-user experience and usability i.e smoothing ENG/ETH gas price conversion with Chainlink oracles.
Enigma Makes a U-turn
Despite the said links between Enigma and Chainlink, there is no gainsaying that the former has now dropped the partnership. This is contained in forum post earlier today.
A forum user who is arguably an adherent of Enigma made some queries regarding the December Chainlink partnership. Responding, Can Kisagun, co-founder and product lead at Enigma, said Enigma does not have an active relationship with Chainlink.
The co-founder said the platform had several discussions with Discovery architecture, but there was a U-turn since. He said Enigma has no concrete plan of collaboration with Chainlink on the Secret Network.
The Enigma adherent pestered further to know why the collaboration was cut. He wanted to know if Enigma is planning to develop its decentralized oracle.
Kisagun responded that the collaboration between Chainlink and Enigma was based on “getting ETH/ENG pricing for network fee abstraction” for its users.
However, since Enigma is not working with Ethereum at the moment, the partnership “is no longer valid,” but it is still possible Enigma partner with Chainlink in the future, Kisagun added.
Enigma Partners Cosmos
Meanwhile, Enigma, early this month, announced a collaboration with Cosmos to enhance the privacy for its Secret Zone. Enigma says it Secret Zone fits into Cosmos ecosystem.
Although, the relationship with Cosmos is not an indication that Enigma is leaving the Ethereum ecosystem, hence further suggesting that it is not working with Chainlink again, at least for now.
