Geometric Energy Corporation (GEC), a partner of IOTA, has launched an IOTA integrated SATCOM solution designed in collaboration with Kanooq and Orbcomm-acquired SkyWave Mobile Communications, said to be the largest M2M service provider on the Inmarsat global L-band satellite network.
The IOTA SATCOM hardware unit is a robust solution developed by bigwigs in the satellite communication industry.
Geometric Energy Corporation, which is behind the creation, is a Canada-based firm offering consultancy services in the end-to-end B2B product development services in AI, IoT, cybersecurity, and blockchain.
In 2017, GEC collaborated with IOTA Foundation to help grow the project, offering specialized Tangle consulting and development on IOTA, which it says is a robust Blockchain Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) developed for post-quantum secure IoT networks.
GEC is a partner of Canadian Space Agency and currency working with the NASA Marshall Spaceflight Center in Huntsville, AL with collaborations from The Institute for Exotic Science, that was co-founded by Samuel Reid and Shantel Butler, who are both personnel at GEC.
The firm works in the Defense and Aerospace industry, focusing on the innovation
State of the art for technologies for the field
Kanooq, which is part of the firms that developed the IOTA SATCOM solution is designing its Nervius monitoring platform that solves year-long problems in existing monitoring systems, giving pipeline operators the opportunity to make use of new technologies to bring in reduced cost continuous monitoring while also improving their monitoring capability.
In October 2017, Samuel Reid, who is the CEO and Co-founder of GEC, joined IOTA Foundation. He’s the Director SpaceBit, referenced as the world’s maiden non-jurisdictional decentralized space agency, works as Chief Blockchain Engineer of the Gibraltar Blockchain Exchange, the world’s first government-regulated digital currency exchange and token sale platform.
Meanwhile, in late 2019, Reid left IOTA Foundation but continues to invent on IOTA tangle technology.
Before leaving the non-profit foundation, Reid was IOTA’s Head of Space. While leaving the firm, Reid said he would continue to recommend IOTA while representing GEC as Chairman, Coinstreet/Kanooq as CTO, and the Canadian Space Agency as a Signature Technology Consultation Committee member.
During the exit period, Reid said Kanooq and Intelli, a crime alert and Data platform, will make use of IOTA, and will soon launch new products that include SATCOM, with IOTA integration. He said that he would exit Intelli to announce the official launch dates for the products in 2020.
I will leave @intelli_network to announce further the official launch date this year as 2020 is the big launch year for Intelli. @green_protocol was appointed CTO of Intelli and the CEO Kamea is in Washington D.C. right now filming a documentary! #IOTA #IOTAstrong
