The tussle between the owner of Steemit blockchain platform, Justin Sun, and Steem community may be on its way to the end as CEO Justin Sun tries to appease the community in a peace-keeping attempt, a report from Caijing.com news outlet has indicated.
Founder Justin Sun of TRON is trying to settle the loggerhead with the Steem community after the CEO lost votes from Binance and Houbi for his platform.
As revealed in the report by Caijing.com, Houbi and Binance exchanges, two of the three major backers of Justin Sun in the Steemit-Steem tussle, have pulled out 40 Million STEEM vote that was earlier used to support Justin Sun’s effort as the owner of Steem.
As such, Sun tried appeasing the community, stating that communication gap has been the major problem. However, one of the largest holders of STEEM, TheycallmeDan, averred that Sun’s style of apology is not accepted.
TheycallmeDan said Justin Sun has to formally apologize to the community and overturn the word “haker” he used to qualify some Steem developers.
Justin Sun, in his appeal statement, said both sides have to reach a consensus to help in the progress of the platform, and this can be achieved only through good communication.
“We come this far due to information gap and misunderstanding. The only thing we can do is active communication between both sides in hopes of a final consensus and a plausible solution,” Sun said.
While Justin Sun still has the backing of his exchange Poloniex, the CEO still possesses 11 witness seats for his project Steemit.
After Justin Sun asserted that hackers who attempted hijacking the Steem platform have been overcomed, the CEO had a meeting with Steem community. Sun revealed details of the meeting, saying there was a misunderstanding between both parties.
He said the person he bought Steemit from did not relay to him that some STEEM assets were to be reserved and not to be used, saying the communication gap caused the tussle.
Binance Apologizes to Steem Community
After pulling out its vote, colossal cryptocurrency exchange platform Binance sent an apology statement to the Steemit community.
Binance issued the official apology for its involvement in an alleged centralization scandal of Justin Sun.
Binance made the declaration today, March 10, in a letter it published on its platform. The exchange said it “stays neutral and has no interest in on-chain governance beyond the Binance ecosystem. We hold a supportive position of normal upgrade/hard fork and will continue to do so in the future.”
Binance furthered that it hopes the two sides reach an agreement as the tussle affects Steem users on Binance.
