The IOTA Foundation and Pickert, an ISO-certified software firm founded in 1981, have jointly showcased a supply chain tracking system on the IOTA Tangle.
With partnership from Pickert, IOTA Foundation says it ably used IOTA in smart manufacturing. During the demonstration, all relevant data was monitored and assigned individually to every product with a unique serial number given to each.
For traceability sake, all the data were stored in a global database, making it easy to search the database, analyze, evaluate, and document every noticed defect at the field or the customer’s side.
According to IOTA, understanding everything about the defect and knowing its origin avert such in the future.
On the demonstration, Sven O. Rimmelspacher, Managing Partner at Pickert said data stored on the IOTA Tangle makes it easy to get “full traceability of each product and its components which we call the Digital Twin”.
Products on the traceability system are easily identified using serial numbers with the data unchangeably secured and accessible.
“IOTA’s public infrastructure does not require any fees or even the use of cryptocurrency to store data decentralized,” he said.
Due to the fact that the Digital Twin of a product is not alterable, it can be deployed as proof for regulatory or complaint sake.
Holger Köther, Director of Partner Management at the IOTA Foundation, helped in showcasing the usefulness of deploying IOTA for digital twins and zero defect in the manufacturing industry.
According to him, beyond the fact that it stores data stored immutably, it can be fortified by manufacturing partners as a component of a complex or larger digital twin.
IOTA is making waves in the IoT industry. Recently the IOTA ecosystem recorded great progress, which has not gained much attention from the public.
The IOTA technology was adopted by society2 to develop their proposed ecosystem, which will return privacy, identity, and data control to users.
The head of development of society2, Mr. Ben Royce, had earlier raised questions on the reasons why anyone should give details of his personal life to corporations and make them profit from his data.
Royce’s question serves as the basis of the society2 ecosystem development, making it serve as the most desirable alternative to traditional social media.
Society2 ecosystem accord its user freedom of choice with control over their decision unlike what user experience with the centralized method used by traditional social media, which does not allow users to have freedom of choice.
The IOTA technology adopts portability measures, thereby giving users who do not find what they want on the society2 social networks to move on to another platform.
In addition, the users’ data are stored on IOTA ledger distribution technology is of high reliability and security.
According to Royce users will be opportuned to choose their choice from a stream of privacy levels, as every privacy would be cryptographically stored.
He further said that users will earn rewards by viewing advertisements, but they are allowed to make the choice either to view an advertisement or not.
Another huge point that makes the society2 ecosystem distinct is the fact that its users can create their self owned social Media; this can be achieved and managed through the IOTA streams framework.
The IOTA technology has been working on a cryptographic framework which is the IOTA streams framework, and it will contain essential tools for publishing social media contents.
