After resolving the software bug that halted activities on the IOTA network for about 15 hours, the blockchain foundation has stated that it would be attending a data-driven energy workshop organized by the European Commission.
IOTA made the announcement via its official Twitter handle, revealing that it would be represented by the Director of Business Development at IOTA, Wilfried Pimenta.
Furthermore, the update was succeeded by the onboarding of a new expert into the IOTA team. IOTA Foundation yesterday, January 6, mentioned that it has just welcomed an operation engineer, Cristian Dascalu, into its team.
IOTA Attending European Commission Data-Driven Energy Service Workshop
On January 21, IOTA would be attending a workshop organized by the European commission, namely DG CNECT and DG ENER, in Brussel.
Titled “Workshop: Data Driven Energy Services. How to Engage Consumers,” the event was organized together with the Alliance for the Internet of Things Innovation, ENTSO-E and EIT-INNOENERGY.
The workshop will focus on “looking at what is happening at household level,” as well as showcasing of relevant projects and how GDPR requirements are approached.
Also at the event, comparison would be made on the role of IT companies in providing the Data-Driven services.
IOTA’s Wilfried Pimenta will feature at session II of the program where users will be giving feedback on energy communities’ perspectives with regards to energy services.
Cristian Dascalu Joins IOTA foundation
Cristian Dascalu, a Romanian, joined IOTA Foundation as Senior System Operations Engineer. He’s an AWS Certified Solutions Architect & SysOps Administrator.
Dascalu has been working for large organizations and small startups for over a decade. The new Operations Engineer will join hands with IOTA core developers and management to make sure the operation of software and systems are reliable.
Cristian is highly skilled in Python, SQL, Bash, vim, Debugging Tools, and Package Management, among others.
The programmer is bringing in his wealth of experience and skills into the IOTA foundation, to enhance the technology and services of the blockchain firm.
