The rising data management problems faced by companies around the world seems to be getting more than what it actually needs from IOTA’s (MIOTA) profound and robust technologies as the blockchain continues to churn out countless of innovations that solves people’s unending problems.
Today marks the announcement from IOTA that its open source Tangle technology that is being used to solve myriads of problems in various sectors will now be used to power the new IAMPASS biometric authentication system that will scan palm vein pattern for digital identification purpose.
The not for profit foundation that is dedicated to permissionless ecosystem development and distributed ledger technology (DLT), IOTA foundation stated that the IAMPASS which uses Proof of Concept (PoC) is another milestone for the company is realizing its Smart City initiative.
While the traditional centralized identity service providers are becoming more incompetent in managing and securing enterprise growing and complex users data, companies are resorting for better means which can offer them verified and managed data on a distributed ledger, bio-identity, highly responsive, reliable and secure digital identity verification system.
Evident of this, IOTA newly unveiled IAMPASS satisfies all their needs offering a meager cost verification and authentication innovation that eliminates third-party security services.
As data centers likes airports, stadiums and other large scale business seems to be in dire need of the technology, IAMPASS offers immutable audit trails by scanning the inner structure of people’s veins through the use of dedicated MAM (Masked Authenticated Messaging).
The innovation can also be used for smart car charging, asset management and others areas that requires identity-dependent technology.
The co-chairperson of the IOTA Foundation who is also the cofounder of the foundation, Dominik Schiener said the growing and unsolved problems resulting from Identity seems to be amputating some of the activities of service providers around the world.
Schiener added that this made IOTA foundation offer an innovation that makes users have control over their data, while enhancing adoption of distributed ledgers.
