Popular Bitcoin influencer and supporter John McAfee has backtracked on his prediction that Bitcoin would hit $1 million in 2020.
McAfee who made the prediction in 2019 had told his followers that, he would ‘’eat his dick in 12 months’ time if Bitcoin had not reached $1 million in value. However, the eccentric McAfee reacted today when quizzed on twitter regarding the quote, claiming that he only predicted that figure ($1 million) to attract more users to Bitcoin.
Eat my dick in 12 months?
A ruse to onboard new users. It worked.
Bitcoin was first. It's an ancient technology. All know it.
Newer blockchains have privacy, smart contracts, distributed apps and more.
Bitcoin is our future?
Was the Model T the future of the automobile?

McAfee also questioned the rationale behind those that took his prediction seriously, equating Bitcoin to the popular electric car Tesla T model.
However one of McAfee followers Peter_Mueller called out McAfee for going against his word in which McAfee replied angrily.
McAfee Continues To Divide Opinion Within The Crypto World
John McAfee is seen by some as an eccentric personality due to his outlandish predictions within the crypto community. As one of the earliest influencers of Blockchain technology, he is highly regarded within the blockchain sector.
However, his recent antecedents have seen many question his motives and predictions. Just last September Newslogical reported that a crypto group South China Zombie had raised a suit of $100 million against McAfee after he criticized the company despite being contracted to write a whitepaper regarding their coin project Zombie coin.
The suit was later withdrawn after McAfee apologized on Twitter claiming a misunderstanding between the two parties involved. However, the whole issue turned out to be a social research as claimed by McAfee.
Bitcoin Continues To Trade Bullish Ahead Of Halving
Bitcoin has shown a bullish trend since the turn of the year with the US-Iran tensions reportedly a key factor in the rise in price. The impending war of attrition between the two global powers have resulted in record sales of Bitcoin in Iran.
There have been reports that BTC is selling as high as $24,000 per unit in Iran as the local population seeks to limit the effect of impending economic sanctions with the digital currency. 2020 also brings anticipation within the crypto community with the highly anticipated halving expected to occur in May.
