Prominent cryptocurrency investor and former Bitcoin preacher, John McAfee, who is not a fan of XRP has again decried the fourth largest coin by market cap, revealing that MoneyGram does not use XRP for transactions.

The former US presidential candidate made the declaration on Twitter while conversing with some crypto users after releasing a video where he explained some of the benefits of using cryptocurrency rather than being a slave to fiat currency.

McAfee tagged the video as a primer for those who know nothing about cryptocurrency. He explained that cryptocurrency offers a monetary system that allows people to buy varieties of things.

In his words, McAfee stated that the permissionless nature of cryptocurrency makes it preferable to fiat. He pointed out that the fact that a user doesn’t need the permission of a bank before sending cryptocurrency to any part of the world is a very big advantage on the side of the digital asset class.

Another advantage of cryptocurrency as raised by the crypto baron in the short video is that crypto is trustless, he emphasized that a user does not need to trust any bank or transfer agency such as MoneyGram before performing transactions.

You only need to trust the mathematics behind this process, McAfee added, revealing that those who use fiat currency must be granted permission and they must trust someone to perform transaction successfully.

XRP Worthless, MoneyGram not Using it – McAfee

It would be recalled that Ripple partnered MoneyGram in 2019, and it has the giant remittance firm as one of its major ODL partners making use of XRP as MoneyGram claims it is using XRP to perfect 10% of its transactions along the Mexican-us corridor.

However, John McAfee seems to have a different side of the story. The veteran crypto investor said MoneyGram’s fallacy.

McAfee made the expression while replying to some crypto enthusiasts on some matters regarding XRP. When asked about what he thinks about XRP, the crypto lord said XRP is worthless.

Another crypto user tried to remind him of the fact that MoneyGram is using XRP. Responding, McAfee said he needs to wake up from the slumber that MoneyGram is using XRP. He said the remittance firm does not make use of XRP.

This is not the first time McAfee will be bashing XRP. In a previous conversation with one of his over 1 million followers on Twitter, he praised Monero, naming it has his choice when it comes to privacy. Speaking further, he poured scorn on the remittance-oriented cryptocurrency.
