The co-founder of the silver to Bitcoin’s gold, Litecoin, has disclosed that a new upgrade will soon be released on the blockchain technology network.
Known as Wang Xinxi, the cofounder of the Bitcoin fork project, made the announcement yesterday, October 7, via his twitter handle.
Xinxi said Litecoin 0.18 bench has been fixed, thus creating way for a new release. Xinxis stated “The new release 0.18 is coming soon.”
The announcement, somewhat vague to the Litecoin community members, erupted the question “What does this exactly mean?” from a follower of the Singaporean based co-founder.
Clarifying what fixing of Litecoin 0.18 Bench means, Xinxi said “bench passed with no error.”
However, the reply seems not satisfying enough for the followers who are ignorant of the message.
Previously in May, Bitcoin released its own core version 0.18.0 for public usage. The new major version comprises of different bug fixes, performance improvements, as well as new features.
The release of Litecoin 0.18 bench is obviously to also enhance the performance of the blockchain network and probably fix bugs like that of Bitcoin.
Xinxi who doubles as the CEO of Coinut exchange has revealed that he won’t be able to attend the Litcoin summit which takes place in Las Vegas due to visa complications.
Litecoin is one of this year’s best performing altcoin. It is trying maintain its prestige in the crypto space and at the same time stay atop the cryptocurrency market.
