With over 73,000 and 29,000 mobile top-ups completed via Electroneum application in Brazil and Nigeria respectively, the two countries rank top among over 140 countries where Electroneum application is being used for airtime and data top-ups.
In the over 140 countries, about 165,000 mobile top-ups have been achieved using Electroneum application as the British based cryptographic project continues to help the unbanked population have access to finance. Electroneum offers people in those countries a rare opportunity by allowing them to top up their mobile phones with ETN crypto assets without any hassle.
The latest milestone could be rated a great accomplishment for Electroneum, a cryptocurrency that was launched in late 2017.
Revealing its dedication to helping the unbacked population, Electroneum stated that of the top 30 countries where its application is being used for mobile top-ups, only one is a developed country.
Brazil ranks first in terms of the number of mobile top-ups achieved via Electronuem application with 73,363 top-ups. A total of 29,250 mobile top-ups have been achieved in Nigeria, and Turkey users have done 17,644 total airtime and data top-ups with ETN, Electroneum has said.
Uganda, the fourth, achieved 5,764 mobile top-ups, while South African and Cambodia followed with 5,500 and 5,100 mobile top-ups respectively.
The CEO of Electroneum, Richard Ells, said in terms of use cases, Electroneum displays high competence that is unmatchable for most projects. Ells said aside Bitcoin and Ethereum, no other cryptocurrency can match ETN use case.
Electroneum Adoption on the Ramp Up
Brazil also has the highest number of Electroneum users across the world. About 310,000 users of Electroneum resides in the country.
In Nigeria, Electroneum can be used for MTN, Airtel, Glo Mobile, and 9Mobile top-ups. A number of small and medium scale businesses in Uganda have begun accepting ETN as a payment option by registering with Electroneum on ETNeverywhere.com.
Uganda remains popular within the Electroneum community due to the cryptocurrency adoption in the country, and it is ranked the 66th country per the number of Electroneum app users.
In January 2020, Electroneum signed a deal with Cambodia’s longest-serving telecommunication company to let its, over 3 million, users top up their mobile phones using ETN crypto. In February, Electroneum application became the 8th most downloaded financial application in the country.
Indonesia, Philipine, Russia and India among other places are among the most popular country where Electroneum users exist with 100,000 app users, 2,862, 2664, and 1,855 app users respectively.
The seventh most active country in terms of mobile top-up is Indonesia.
