OmiseGo (OMG) To Collaborate With UNICEF After Meeting In Bangkok

OmiseGo (OMG) is set to embark on a collaboration with UNICEF after both parties met at the SURGE Hackathon in Bangkok Thailand.

The summit which was organised by UNICEF, OmiseGo and other blockchain based project sought to create awareness about the emergence of blockchain technology.

The three-day event explored different ways of introducing participants to the basis of blockchain technology in everyday life. Tutorials were held that provided both technical and non-technical information on exploring and working on Ethereum.

UNICEF representative Thomas Davin spoke about the need to build solutions for financial inclusion stating that there are over 2.5billion people in the world without access to financial services. He further reiterated UNICEF efforts to use technology and innovation to find solutions for every child.

OmiseGo chief Vansa Chatikavanij spoke about the potential of blockchain technology to provide solutions that would help improve lives and provide more persons to financial services. He reiterated the core values of OmiseGo which is to bank the unbanked. Vansa revealed that the blockchain platform is building the OmiseGo network which it envisages would bring about infinite, scalable and cross chain compatible features.

OmiseGo (OMG) Partnership With UNICEF A SHORTCUT TO ADOPTION

It is understood that OmiseGo have begun talks with UNICEF to create blockchain solutions that can be used in areas without access to traditional banking services.

UNICEF is the body of the United Nations that works to provide the rights of children while also providing basic amenities such as water and education to underdeveloped areas. The potential of the partnership between OmiseGo and UNICEF cannot be understated.

OmiseGo is overseen by Thailand financial firm Omise which has gained a huge share of the financial market in South East Asia. The partnership would enable OmiseGo to spread faster as it’s blockchain solutions would gain a wider reach.

UNICEF has a presence in over 150 nations across the world and the organization has access to remote areas that would benefit from OmiseGo quest to provide financial services to the unbanked.

OmiseGo is considered as one of the best blockchain platforms in the market providing quick transactions with low transaction fees.

OmiseGo is the 33rd largest cryptocurrency based on market cap and it is currently priced at $2.07 for a unit.  The cryptocurrency has increased in popularity in recent months with its network hitting over 1.5million transactions in May.
