The number of transactions perfected with Basic Attention Token (BAT) on Uphold supersedes that of all cryptocurrency assets on the platform, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Ripple’s XRP.
Uphold is a digital platform that offers users across the globe seamless services using fiat currencies, cryptocurrencies.
The platform, over the years, has done over $5 billion transactions, servicing 184 countries of the world with 50 currencies and four commodities. Uphold is popular and has more than 1 million users cut across different countries.
As reflected on Uphold’s transparency page, Bitcoin saw 3,671,963 transactions. As well, Ethereum also perfected 1,069,575 transactions. In the same line, 213,069 transactions were done using Ripple’s XRP.
Interestingly, Basic Attention Token (BAT) saw a transaction of 4,107,740 transactions, the highest on the platform among all assets aside US Dollars which has 5,207,841 transactions.
The sudden increase in the number of transactions done with BAT could be linked to an October partnership between Brave Browser, whose native currency is BAT, and Uphold.
In October, Brave said it launched a wallet, courtesy of Uphold, to reward users for browsing. Users of Brave browsers can select to transfer their Basic Attention Tokens (BAT) from their Brave Rewards wallet, and easily convert the fund to many of the available digital currencies or fiat currencies on Uphold.
When users choose to view privacy-preserving Brave Ads, they are rewarded with BAT every month.
The moment Brave users link their Brave wallet to their Uphold account, they can easily move the BAT they own to their Uphold wallet.
Brave browser is becoming a widely adopted means of accessing the internet. On Brave, as of October, there are around 280,000 Verified Publishers. Importantly, Brave has around 7 million monthly active users.
