The commercial arm of the Cardano Foundation, Emurgo, has just signed a new partnership with a top-class Canadian payment processor, Bidali, to make Cardano token, ADA, spendable on Amazon, Airbnb, Nike, Starbucks and over 1,100 major retail brands, a report from Singapore has shown.
Emurgo today, August 25, announced the partnership with Bidali, a payment company helping to connect the traditional finance system with the next generation money using blockchain technology.
The partnership will permit ADA users to buy goods directly from the over 1,200 major retail brands through the company’s online gift card platform.
Bidali has its headquarter in the Calgary city of Canada, the firm helps people from around the world save money while performing transactions. Bidali also assists businesses to improve their sales rate, reduces transaction charges, and helps eradicate fraud.
The release claims that holders of ADA cryptocurrency will now have access to buying name-brand retail gift cards that can be used with their ADA token at an equivalent value of fiat, this will be made possible via the Bidali’s gift card platform giftcards.bidali.com, and its network of partners that includes exchanges and wallets.
Emurgo has the sole aim of enhancing the adoption of Cardano ADA cryptocurrency across the world, hence the partnership is in line with firm’s mission. The collaboration will open Cardano ADA to new commercial use cases and increase the liquidity of the coin.
While Emurgo continues to work towards giving Cardano ADA mainstream adoptions, the blockchain company that offers government, startups, enterprise and developers solution, recently signed a strategic deal with Travala, a crypto-friendly travel platform, to open ADA to adoption in over 2 million hotels and inns across the world.
A gift card is regarded as one of the popular means of settling transactions across the world due to its ease for payment and simplicity. In 2018, about $160 billion was spent on gift cards in the United States, however, a chunky size of it fell into the hands of a scammer.
Thus, Bidali aims to solve this problem by leveraging blockchain technology to proffer a top-notch, verifiable, and tamper-proof payment mean that help eradicates fraudulent double-spending problem.
The latest partnership will not only benefit Cardano by the entire cryptocurrency ecosystem, Emurgo said, showing its delightness in opening ADA to more use cases and adoptions. Emurgo also hailed the partnership, noting that it will let users of the cryptocurrency have access to buying goods from a wide spectrum of brands across the world.
Bidali Vice President of Growth, Erik Ashdown, said after examining several blockchain platforms, the company found Cardano as a promising technology that will help Bidali achieve its desired performance, cost-effectiveness and scalability.
