Ripple has launched a Xumm-linked web app dubbed ChefXRP. The web app, according to Ripple, makes use of a test network. It is a demonstration of the potentials of PayID in a subscription register flow.
The demo page was launched few days after Ripple and more than 40 financial institutions unveiled PayID, an idea centered on creating a unique payment identification system that abolished the archaic account number ideas employed by banks across the globe.
Ripple says developers who want to have a deep look at ChefXRP or make use of it have to download the Xumm app from either the iOS or Android App stores. Then, they go through the setup and make necessary configurations to make the application hit an address on the XRP ledger testnet.
Once this is done; developers have access to the ChefXRP and use it to create subscriptions with payment done using Xumm app.
After this is configured, the ChefXRP website can be used to create subscriptions with payments being serviced by Xumm, and then click subscribe upon signing in using PayID.
The clicked subscription menu button automatically opens a modal that demands developers perfect a purchase which ends up landing on Xumm website.
Ripple’s Xpring says it is possible the Xumm web displays a QR code that developers can easily scan with the Xumm app or display a button for the display of QR code provided notification has been forwarded to their device.
Once the developer clicks accept, they are returned to the Chef XRP website and greeted with a success message. Meanwhile, Ripple has also launched PayID Hackathon for developers to earn $25K in prizes when they make designs that make it possible to send money with the speed of email.
Ripple’s PayID in Focus
Last week, Ripple and some other financial industry leaders launched PayID, a universal identification for making payments.
Firms like Ripple, Xumm, Sologenic, Blockchain.com, Brave, Flutterwave, Mercy Corps, and some other big firms and not-for-profit organizations collaborated in the design and development of the payment solution.
The payment identification solution gathers companies across the world with an open-sourced payment solution that combines the archaic finance and new fintech under a single umbrella.
The launch of PayID will reduce the stress of having to cram account numbers when they could be replaced with a simple and easy to name.
