Dilip Rao, Ripple Labs Inc.’s Global Head of Infrastructure and Innovation, is retiring from active service, and returning to Australia.
In a statement made a few hours back, Dilip was grateful to many colleagues and friends for their support since July 2014. He thanked his colleagues at Ripple and XRP community members.
Dilip was Ripple’s Managing Director for Asia-Pacific, Middle East and North Africa regions between July 2014 and December 2017. He was in that capacity for close to 4 years, securing institutional partnership for RippleNet.

Although, it is unclear if Dilip is returning to Australia to focus on its previous initiatives. The Ripple executive founded Paymate Pty Ltd, the country’s first P2P payment platform.
Dilip served as the founding president of IIMPACT Australia as an NGO offering education to female children.
In January 2018, Dilip became Ripple’s Global Head of Infrastructure Innovation. Dilip, led his colleagues in engaging financial market infrastructures and central banks as they sojourn with digital currency and Distributed Ledger Technology.
Dilip had spoken at several events and engaged central bank directors across the world at different World Bank seminars.
Dilip Rao had worked in several companies and created several startups. He founded and worked as the CEO of Woomera Labs, Inc., between October, 2013 and December 2014.
Woomera offers a ‘safe house’ for large businesses to engage with startups to solve enterprise issues. At that time, Woomera’s first client was Ripple Labs inc.
Dilip earned his Masters in Systems and Marketing from Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, and a Bachelor of Technology in Electrical Engineering from Indian Institute of Science. Dilip also has a degree in Physics from Bangalore University, India.
