Ripple’s Xpring has announced it invested in Wietse Wind’s XRPL Labs, a community of developers dedicated to growing the ecosystems around the Interledger Protocol and XRP Ledger.
Weitse has been an ‘excellent’ developer and a dedicated member of XRP community single-handedly working on improving the digital currency’s ecosystem. He has worked on building projects and tools for the XRP community. Wietse’s XRPTipBot is being used on Twitter by XRP community for tipping purposes.
He also invented XRParrot, a platform for buying XRP using a SEPA (IBAN) transfer. The XRPL Labs is made of three developers: Tristan, Ali and Wietse. They have been working fulltime to invent applications for the XRP ecosystem.
Xpring Gears Wietse Up To Work On Three Killer Projects: Signing Platform (App), Decentralized Exchange UI, and Cold Storage OS
Shortly after Xpring stated it’s invested in XRPL Labs, Wietse Wind took to twitter to inform the XRP community his team are going to be immediately working on a few Killer XRP apps.
I cannot describe what I feel right now, but I'll try … 😳 Starting today @baltazar223, @ThisIsTRISS and I will be officially working full time on building a few killer XRPL apps… Thanks to Xpring funding 😎🎉https://t.co/dhgErN2EBl

However, on XRPL Labs’ official website, it is stated that the three developers will be working on Signing Platform (App), Decentralized Exchange UI, and Cold Storage OS for XRP.
Signing Platform is an app that makes people interact with the XRP ledger from their smartphone (iOS/Android).
The app also makes it easy for people to sign transactions and keep their XRP safe by allowing 3rd party applications to send Sign Requests to their mobile device. The app, according to an update, supports Decentralised exchanges and DEX and MultiSign.
Meanwhile, the Decentralized Exchange UI can be used to view, create and cancel offers on the XRP ledger Decentralized Exchange. With it, it is easy to trade XRP for IOU’s using browser.
Also, the Cold Storage OS that is being worked on by the XRPL Labs can be used on a cheap laptop. Once Linux-based XRPL Cold Storage OS created by XRPL Labs is installed on the laptop, user can store their “keypairs and secrets, safe and encrypted, and compose and sign transactions offline and submit their transactions airgapped”. According to XRPL Labs, the Cold Storage is completely airgapped.
With the new investment, Wietse wind’s XRPL Labs is going to be introducing many a number of innovations into the community and hopefully, this may speedily birth XRP adoption.
