RippleNet (XRP) –Banco Santander has been a long friend of the blockchain technology and has been pushing for the use of it on an international level.
With the deployment of RippleNet by the internationally recognized bank, Banco Santander was able to launch a globally celebrated app dubbed One Pay FX in April 2018.
The app happens to be the world’s first mobile application for cross-border remittance powered by RippleNet (XRP).

On Monday, 1st October 2018, Banco Santander Head of Innovation Ed Metzger who was present at SWELL by Ripple (XRP) conference reflected on the bank’s journey with Ripple, touching how they use their technology that is powered by RippleNet (XRP) to improve the lives of their customers.
While celebrating Ripple service, he said, “One of our customers was in Italy on holiday and parked in the wrong place,” Metzger he said.
“He needed to pay a fine and didn’t have his banking card. He was able to use the app to immediately pay the fine, and stop his car from being towed away.”
Merger informed that RippleNet has been helping customers across the globe solve seemingly unsolvable problems related to cross-border remittance.
He said Banco Santander’s 140 million retail and commercial customers worldwide now enjoy RippleNet powered seamless, fast and reliable cross-border remittance that is as simple as a two-way instant messaging.
“We believe that financial services is moving to a world of open platforms where companies collaborate to deliver excellent customer service for their customers, and that’s at the core of what we’re doing with One Pay FX.”
