Now that Tezos (XTZ) blockchain will depart the experimental phase for an officially operational phase come Monday, the cryptocurrency enthusiasts have restated that the future is now.
In an official declaration on Friday, Tezos Foundation said the protocol will be live on Monday, a statement indicating that the Tezos community are going to be in charge of the blockchain protocol.
At present, Tezos in value weighs more than $1 billion. Earlier in June, Tezos unveiled it mainnet, making XTZ token tradable.
According to Ryan Jesperson of the Tezos Foundation, in a conversation with CoinDesk, Tezos blockchain has been operating efficiently with an engaged community with full dependent on 400 validators.
When the blockchain was first launched, Tezos Foundation was responsible for validation. However, it gave the validation to an external source around July 20.
Tezos-IMDEA Software Institute Partnership
Early may, the Tezos Foundation announced a partnership with the IMDEA Software Institute. In the same line, the foundation made known it is strengthening its collaboration with OCaml Labs.
According to available sources, the research is to be centered on Tezos cryptographic ledger and smart contracts.
While the partnership will make the software more scalable, robust and privacy-oriented, the collaboration is expected to support IMDEA’s Masters and PhD programs at the Technical University of Madrid for further research.
Tezos Collaborates with OCaml
Around February, a partnership agreement was reached between Tezos Foundation and OCaml, however, for now the foundation said it is officially collaborating with OCaml Labs to promote the usage of the OCaml software.
At the same time, Tezos aims to provide necessary tools needed by OCaml Labs to make their programming library efficient.
