Travelling just got easier as Trippki announces via a tweet that the Trippki Hotel Beta which has an inclusion of 1.6 million hotels, will now accept cryptocurrencies such as Dogecoin, Decred DCR, Ethereum, Litcoin, Monero and Ripple’s XRP.
This is an exciting development as the Ethereum blockchain-based hotel booking platform which utilises SnartRewards will create an incentive for users to spend their cryptocurrency.
Trippki is trying to create a better relationship between hotels and their crypto guests. Once a guest utilises the Trippki platform in booking for lodging, the guests receives a reward called Trip. This reward can either be spent or traded by the user if he so wishes.
The system also works in such a unique way that with each Trip a user receives, the transaction is recorded in a reward ledger and the user can build his reputation on the platform with specific hotels.
Earlier in the year, Trippki announced that it would be integrating XRP tokens to its online bookings thereby attracting users of the XRP. This decision was revealed via tweet by an independent crypto-analyst, Tiffany Hayden.
She tweeted, “Trippki just reached out and offered to help with hotel bookings, so we can now pay with $XRP!”The blockchain platform has grown its reach by adding Dogecoin, Decred DCR, Ethereum, Litcoin, Monero to enable customers to make online bookings.
The global travel industry is valued at over $3T per annum with the hotel booking market having a worth of about $528B. With a team of 9 persons including Ed Cunningham as CEO and Bill Purves as CFO, Trippki is developing a new hotel booking channel that will enable hotels to pay much lower channel costs and create a better reputation based deals for their customers.
At least with Trippki, guest can get valuable rewards that are transferrable, exchangeable, can be used as store value, or used to pay hotel bookings or any other goods and services.
Crypto users are already getting excited about the addition of new coins as one Monero user states that it will be huge for a Monero nomard like himself.
