Tron Foundation has just mentioned that Opera browser is now supporting Tron Wallet, adding that TRON, BitTorrent and Opera will be hosting featured Dapps for millions of users to access in 120 countries. On October 18, NewsLogical put out that Bitcoin and Tron have been integrated into the mobile version of the web browser.
This is regarded a major achievement for Tron as it will open it up to Opera’s 350 million users across the globe. In addition to being able to store, send and receive TRX, the integration will also allow sharing of dapps across the network.
Tron Founder and CEO of BitTorrent, Justin Sun said:
“Opera is one of the most important software companies in the world. They are bringing security, privacy, and dynamic cryptocurrency capabilities to hundreds of millions of users. We are proud to connect the largest, active blockchain ecosystem to the best web browser ever built.”
Opening up the World to Decentralized Applications
Decentralized applications or dapps are an emerging technology applications built on the blockchain networks which bear the typical blockchain attribute of decentralization.
With 350 million users of Opera from 120 countries, Tron will be gaining some much needed exposure for this technology that is taking over the world. Mobile phone users will especially gain access to several dapps which include gaming, gambling and trading dapps.
As stated by Tron Foundation in the release, Tron, its sister company BitTorrent and Opera will be hosting featured dapps for the millions of daily active users.
Opera’s distinctive features such as free VPN, ad blocker, integrated messenger and private mode, align with the fundamental principle of blockchain technology which is to preserve privacy.
This is why it is an ideal operating ground for these major blockchain networks to reach millions globally with privacy and safety being a priority.
Opera Facilitating Blockchain and Cryptocurrency Adoption
Opera is the only mainstream browser known to support cryptocurrency wallets. Just like conventional hot wallets, users can buy, sell, send receive and store the respective cryptocurrencies. Although not many people believe in cryptocurrencies and what they represent, millions of users use internet and a good number of them use Opera.
The decision to integrate cryptocurrency wallets is therefore an important one in bringing cryptocurrency to the mainstream as users can easily experiment with the wallets while on the internet rather than having to enter the strange world of cryptocurrency to access services.
Apart from just bringing Tron’s dapps to its millions of users, the integration of Tron wallet will help the company to achieve its goal of decentralizing the internet through blockchain technology and decentralized applications.
Tron has also recently entered some strategic partnerships with key cryptocurrency companies including Huobi global cryptocurrency exchange, Binance and BitGo among others.
Tether also recently launched on Tron blockchain and has been minting USDT on the network. Tron has also recorded significant growth in its dapps and smart contracts and it’s currently second only to Ethereum and is bound to go further with such major partnerships.
