Twitter founder Jack Dorsey who has been a longtime proponent of Bitcoin has again extolled the digital currency for its existence and growth over the year.
Dorsey told The Sydney Morning Herald today while playing down on plans to create own digital currency like Facebook’s Libra.
The founder said he’s more focused on promoting the use of Bitcoin rather than creating own crypto.
“I think [Bitcoin’s] the best bet because it’s been the most resilient”, Dorsey stated.
The CEO said for the duration of 10 years which Bitcoin has been in existence, it has proved its potency with a great brand, ‘and it’s been tested a bunch.’
The renowned quadragennial said his observation about the crypto industry is that only Bitcoin of all digital currencies in the world today has the capacity of being the native currency for the internet.
Mr Dorsey, who is currently promoting his digital payments company Square in Australia, believes Bitcoin would last long to serve the internet very well.
The American computer programmer described Bitcoin as an “existing, open standards,” adding that he’s more inclined to using BTC than developing Libra-esque currency for Twitter or Square.
“I think open Internet standards serve every person better than ones controlled or started by companies,” Mr Dorsey added.
Square, a digital payment platform which sells BTC via CashApp, has a combined market cap of $US58 billion with twitter.
The internet billionaire entrepreneur continues to show strong believe in his existing project, in spite of all hurdles bordering around recession. He said that they are always prepared for anything.
