VeChain has co-designed and launched a COVID-19 records app with I-Dante. The app named E-HCert App is based on VeChain blockchain and will be used by the Mediterranean Hospital of Cyprus, the maiden adopter of VeChain Health app in the whole of Cyprus.
The app is to help in battling the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic by reducing the hardship placed on the healthcare systems across the globe.
The VeChain powered Electronic Health Record (EHR) system is developed to offer an archival solution for COVID-19 RT-PCR (real time-polymerase chain reaction) and antibodies test records.
The previous successful collaboration between I-Dante and VeChain resulted in this new development and will assist in wagging war against the dreadful virus.
The E-HCert App by VeChain is going to fortify the Mediterranean Hospital of Cyprus with a seamless, fast, and easy means of saving the records of COVID-19 patients by presenting a final result of the health status of individuals.
The app won’t tamper with the privacy of the app users since they are going to be the ones to make their health information accessible to the hospital.
The testing result of individuals require privacy, hence the need for a secured blockchain platform like VeChain.
How the VeChain E-HCert Works
When citizens go for COVID-19 RT-PCR and antibodies tests, their medical records are encrypted and saved onto the VeChainThor Blockchain.
When there is a need for the results, they access them via the GDPR complaint E-HCert Native App.
Partnership Between VeChain and I-Dante
VeChain has an intimidating stream of global partners like Walmart, DHL, and some others. The blockchain platform entered Cyprus in late 2019 and signed a partnership agreement with Cyprus Invest and CREAM.
The partnership according to a publication by NewsLogical will make VeChain advise the Cyprus government on blockchain technology, and today, the collaboration is already helping VeChain as the blockchain platform gain ground in the republic, and this has led to the invention of E-NewHealthLife courtesy of a partnership with I-Dante.
The E-NewHealthLife is to serve the Cyprus-based Mediterranean Hospital which serves more than 38K outpatients in the country.
