VeChain (VET) and DNV GL announced Monday the signing of a partnership deal with Norway In a Box, to back moving of superior Norwegian products like seafood, food supplements and water into the Chinese mammoth market.
The partnership will see the three working together to develop a trusted platform that brings high-quality products from Norway to China ever desiring consumers as well as others from Northern Europe countries.
Food importation into the Chinese market is facing the safety assurance hurdles like validation and origin verification even amid the present digital age.
However, VeChain’s blockchain technology offers true traceability solution that enables immutability of data and transparency of supply chain data assured by third-parties.
It used to be a complex challenge to see that government laid down safety and efficiency rules were followed. However, the introduction of VeChain’s traceability solution solves the problem completely.
Now, VeChain, DNV GL, one of the largest business assurance companies in the world, and Norway In a Box, an aggregator and exporter of superior Norwegian products, have come together to bring fresh food to the people of China from Norway.
The partnership will involve the use of DNV GL’s app My Story™ that was launched via the VeChainThor Blockchain platform around January of 2018. The app works as a digital assurance solution for food and beverages. It gives brands the opportunity to share the life of their products, allowing consumers to see crosscheck product’s origination and lifecycle without any hindarance and in a transparent way.
The VeChainThor Blockchain powered platform gives consumer the ease of scanning a unique QR code attached to get access to that products story. The idea was first used by the top Italian wine producers among other industries.
“The My Story™ implementation within the respective industries continues to take on new hardware, software, business processes, and safety measures as its users, brands, and suppliers adopt and become educated on blockchain technology as applied to their specialization,” VeChain says in an update.
Meanwhile, the three firms are to going to work on majorly importing Norwegian salmon and some other seafood.
The products will be shipped to China from Norway, and would be made available in restaurants and on an online retail platform designed by Norway In a Box.
All products using My Story™ are to have a blockchain entry denoting every step in the journey of the products from the time the fish were caught to the time it was packaged and distributed.
As more demand for the solution grows, more features, transparency steps and products are to be added.
With a scan, it is easy for consumers and buyers alike to get info of every product, especially assurance of its freshness by Norway in a Box, which is validated by DNV GL. The partnership is a progressive step towards fighting food safety issues in China.
