In a developmental update released by Vergecurrency today, it was stated that the blockchain project is working on Electrum Mnemonic Sweeping to let users get a better experience when using their iOS wallet.
Also, the privacy-oriented cryptocurrency called for the support of its community members on the latest upgrade it just launched.
In the developmental update, the blockchain project wrote that it is working to permit users the ability to sweep their Electrum mnemonic into the iOS wallet.
“This means you’ll just need you mnemonic and fill that into the sweeping feature in the iOS wallet and it will transfer all your funds to an iOS wallet address,” Vergecurrency stated.
While Verge already assured that some of its developers would continue to work during the holiday season, the latest update affirmed that there has been a lot of changes in the codebase during the holiday season.
Verge mentioned that the codebase had been moved to a new level by simply upgrading tor to the latest version. And the developers have also worked on improving the DNS tor-peer resolution as well as peer discovery.
Verge Calls for Community Members’ Support on Latest Upgrade
On 26 January, a Verge core developer, Marvin Marpme, announced that Vergecurrency, after the yuletide period, is releasing the first upgrade for the year. Marpme said Verge is releasing “the first beta version of the new electrum wallet,” with the aim of replacing the existing ones.
“After a perfect Xmas and New Year streak we are moving forward with “releasing” the first beta version of the new electrum wallet. This is going to replace the old ones. We are going to further integrate Tor natively and even more to be announced,” Marpme said.
However, Marpe, the lead software engineer at Verge, afterward urged members of the Verge community to render their support by downloading the latest version of the wallet on Github, and report all issues encountered.
Marpme furthered warn those who would be testing the wallet to be wary of losing their funds as the latest version still contain bugs.
If you want to help us with that please download your latest version right here: https://t.co/e5O02z7i7v
And report your found issues at the same page inside the issues tab 🙂

To download, Verge said users need to connect to ElectrumX server, adding that it would soon integrate Tor into the build.
You can now download & test out the electrum client, 4.0 alpha. Instant transactions, and no heavy blockchain download necessary! Connects to ElectrumX server..
