The VeChain-powered E-HCert designed in conjunction with I-Dante is gaining acceptance in Cyprus as visitors using the country’s largest airport, the Larcana airport, are adopting the health innovation to avoid quarantine by the government.
E-HCert, recently adopted by the Mediterranean Hospital in Cyprus, has been downloaded by at least 1,200 people at the Larcana Airport, which alongside Pafos Airport saw a first-time 11 million passengers in 2019.
Cyprus visitors entering through the Larnaca Airport download the E-HCert App and receive their pandemic coronavirus results on it, VeChain Tech ecosystem manager, Dimitrios Neocleous, told popular Cyprus news magazine, the Cyprus Mail. The news magazine says the Mediterranean Hospital of Cyprus does the test at the airport for €60.
The technology is going to be adopted to houses and display different results of medical tests in the future, says Neocleous.
The Mediterranean hospital has also adopted E-NewHealthLife for keeping patient records in its Emergency Department by maintaining the patient’s privacy rights. Both e-HCert and E-NewHealthLife are placed on the VeChain blockchain technology.
VeChain in the Medical Sector
In the medical sector, VeChain’s effort cannot be overemphasized. VeChain partnered with global pharmaceutical company Bayer China to design a blockchain traceability solution named CSecure to monitor the clinical trials of drugs. During an interview with VCBeat, Bayer China mentioned the collaboration and its modus operandi.
The collaboration was sealed after VeChain displayed its capacity at the 2019 Bayer China G4A Program designed to select the best firms for possible partnerships and networking.
VeChain Partnered ICAB La Fiammante
VeChain has a longstanding record of innovations in the blockchain space. Recently, 70 years old Italian food brand ICAB La Fiammante adopted VeChain-powered DNV GL’s My Story.
The food brand deployed My Story, a VeChain traceability solution co-designed in partnership with DNV GL. All La Fiammante tomato products are launching on VeChain traceability solution to completely abolish counterfeits.
The products’ records from the farm to the consumer will be stored on VeChain blockchain technology.
La Fiammante adopted the VeChain-powered DNV GL’s My Story in line with its transparency aim.
Also, an Australia-based startup Verida Health is making use of VeChainThor blockchain to bring about decentralized health care solutions.
Verida newly launched a blockchain-based Electronic Medical Record (EMR) where medical personnel can manage patient records.
VeChain and Walmart
VeChain has a strong relationship with Walmart China. Walmart, VeChain, and PwC collaborated to spearhead a traceability solution on the VeChainThor blockchain. The solution is now being deployed as another offshoot of Walmart, Sam’s Club, to offer unique products to its 3.8 million members in China.
