The founder of Ripple-backed XRP Labs, Wietse Wind, has announced that the popular XRPL-based banking application XUMM is set for a new upgrade that is aimed at offering users better experience via the payment app.
Wietse said the new upgrade XUMM 0.5.1 is set for release after a number of tests and fixes have been done to affirm the proficiency of the application. The founder said the upgrade is a massive one for the application.
He added that the last internal testing & fixes would be done in the next 1 to 2 days to make sure the application is fit for release and public use. Wietse furthered that next week, a community developer testing would also be done for another cross-examination.
The XUMM 0.5.1 is estimated to be released at the end of next week.
The βmassive XUMM updateβ 0.5.1 is to come with 60 changes, additions, improvements & fixes.
Kudos to two XRP Labs developers who played a major role in the successful achievement of the upgrade. Wietse Wind confirmed that the new upgrade will feature a number of intriguing developments.
He said more than 60 additions, fixes, changes, and addition has been embroiled in the upcoming update, adding that developers Tristan van de Kamp and N3TC4T were the backbone of the update.
Meanwhile, the last version of the XUMM app, XUMM 0.4.0, was released in May 2020. Wietse said the 1 (just 1 difference) should not be taken for granted as it contains lots of work & improvements.
After the release of this update, developer N3TC4T will work on automated internal testing procedures for XUMM 0.5.1.
XUMM 0.6.0 On The Way
The next release after this will probably be a beta version of XUMM 0.6.0. The XUMM 0.6.0 will feature only few changes and update. This will be succeeded by removing of the Beta label and launch V1.
While XUMM 0.6.0 is expected to roll out in mid-Q4 2020, founder Wietse Wind said heβs really excited about all the updates. According to him, XUMM can now store, receive, and send XRP.
