In November 2018 when the payment platform started, it achieved a total conversion of 125,000 XRP in just 3 days.
XRParrot is a non-profit registered business in Netherlands. Wietse Wind, the creator, is one of the primary developers in the XRP community working endlessly to increase the use cases and adoption of Ripple’s XRP.
The developer said XRParrot was launched to make it easier for Europeans having IBAN accounts to acquire XRP.
XRParrot was officially introduced into Europe on November 16th 2018 when its Beta testing was rolled out, says a post on Coil.
The latest update has it that the platform has performed over €1 million (around US$ 1.11 million) conversion to XRP. This was achieved in less than a year that the XRP-centric platform was launched.
The one millionth Euro, according to the post, was processed by XRParrot this morning around 08:00 Wednesday, Central European Time (CET).
In February, Ripple’s investment arm, Xpring, invested in Wietse Wind’s XRPL Labs.
Xpring said Wietse “creative approach, leadership and ability to engage developers” made them invent in his ideas.
“The funding will enable Wietse to dedicate more time and resources to his projects, which he will independently select.”
Wietse’s XRPL Labs is working on ‘Signing Platform’, an App that allows XRP users to interact with the XRP ledger from their mobile smartphone (iOS / Android).
The firm is also working on Decentralized Exchange UI that permits viewing, creating and canceling of offers on the XRP ledger Decentralized Exchange. The innovation will permit trading XRP for IOU’s and vice versa.
