Wietse Wind, the lead developer of XRPL Labs, a Ripple-funded startup centered on fortifying the XRP ecosystem with diverse use cases, has unveiled another development. This time around, the startup launched XRP Text, an idea that allows the transfer of XRP tokens using text messages.
While the idea is being perfected at the moment, the XRP Text website has been launched, however, the SMS transfer is still in public beta stage, awaiting corrections before a full launch.
XRPL Lab is the creator of XRP Tip Bot, an application for tipping content creators on social platform.
While the fund transfer may not be available to all, users in some particularly mentioned countries who have access to the innovation are given mobile numbers to converse with.
However, global users are provided with a telephone number, while Dutch, German and Swedish users have separate numbers to send text to.
In February 2019, Xpring, an investment arm of Ripple Lab Inc., invested in XRPL Labs after finding the startup suitable for propelling Ripple’s vision especially in increasing the adoption of XRP token.
Vanessa Pestritto, who directs Ripple’s Xpring, said XRPL Labs focuses on growing the ecosystems around the Interledger Protocol and XRP Ledger, which resonates with the Xpring’s major focus.
Being an XRP community member, Wietse, the lead developer in the XRPL Labs is also a leader in the XRP community, dedicating his precious time to developing projects and developer tool.
Wietse, as an entrepreneur, has developed his tech consulting firm, serving a high number of companies.
Wietse developed the popular XRP Tip Bot. At the moment, he’s designing a Signing Platform App for interacting with the XRP Ledger.
His firm is also designing a Decentralized Exchange UI where XRP users can view, create and cancel offers on the XRP ledger Decentralized Exchange.
The software lab is also planning to launch a mobile banking app named Xumm where users can make necessary transaction using XRP and may be fiats.
